Montana Fish & Wildlife Conservation Trust

Apply for Grants

The annual grant cycle for the Montana Fish & Wildlife Conservation Trust begins in January.  The amount of money available depends on each year’s performance of the trust investments.  For 2018, $1,000,000 is available for projects that restore and conserve fisheries, wildlife and riparian habitat, enhance public hunting, fishing and recreational opportunities and improve public access to public lands.  All applications must be postmarked no later than April 14, 2018.

The Trust does not commit to funding for infrastructure unless it serves an integral function in the acquisition of publicly accessible lands or interest in lands.

Applications may be downloaded from this website or requested by contacting the Trust at:

Phone: 406-461-9524  8:00AM - 5:00PM

All project applicants awarded Trust funding are allowed up to two years to complete their projects. Not all projects awarded funding are completed. The project funds are retained by the Trust until a project is complete; if unused they are then available for other project funding.
