Apply for Grants

The annual grant cycle for the Montana Fish & Wildlife Conservation Trust begins on February 5, 2024.  The amount of money available depends on each year’s performance of the trust investments.  Funds are available for projects that restore and conserve fisheries, wildlife and riparian habitat, enhance public hunting, fishing and recreational opportunities and improve public access to public lands.  All applications must be postmarked no later than April 5, 2024.

The Trust does not commit to funding for infrastructure unless it serves an integral function in the acquisition of publicly accessible lands or interest in lands.

All project applicants awarded Trust funding are allowed up to two years to complete their projects. Not all projects awarded funding are completed. The project funds are retained by the Trust until a project is complete; if unused they are then available for other project funding.
